Cassels: Managing the People Side of Office Relocation

Cassels Law Firm faced a challenging relocation project for its Toronto office. With over 700 firm members, the move required meticulous planning and execution to minimize the impact on the law firm’s operations. Cassels sought our agency’s help communicating the move to its firm members.

We created a change management plan that integrated with the relocation project plan. The plan involved conducting a stakeholder analysis to identify key groups and individuals affected by the change. We also developed a communication plan to keep stakeholders informed throughout the process.

We employed the PROSCI change management methodology to create awareness, desire, and knowledge about the change. We conducted company-wide briefings, provided coaching to the executive team, and organized lunch and learn sessions with different departments. To keep employees informed, we designed and set up an intranet portal dedicated solely to move communications.

We provided ongoing support and guidance to the Cassels Law Firm team throughout the project. We conducted regular check-ins to ensure the change management plan was on track and made adjustments as needed. We also developed a post-move survey to collect employee feedback and identify improvement areas.
